31st Annual National
Night Out Against Crime
Tuesday, October 14, 2014
6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Everyone is invited
to attend the 15th Annual National Night Out Against Crime Kick-Off Party
taking place on Sunday, October 12, from 2 – 6 P.M. at Laketown in Kenner. The Kick Off and National Night out events,
which were previously hosted in August, have been moved to October this year in
order to take advantage of the cooler weather.
As always, there will
be exciting entertainment including children’s activities, various displays and
demonstrations by law enforcement professionals, live music and great food –
ALL FREE! Representatives in every area of law enforcement will be there to talk
with you. This is an excellent opportunity for people considering a career in
law enforcement to have their questions answered by experts in each field and
to find out what their jobs are all about. It’s also a great time for citizens
and officials to interact and to discuss important issues in our community.
The Kick-Off Party is
a prelude to the 31st Annual National Night Out Against Crime, which
St. James Parish will observe on the evening of Tuesday, October 14, 2014.
Citizens can help us celebrate this event in a variety of ways, such as having
a block party, a cookout, flashlight walks, or by sitting on their front porch
with their lights on – a symbol that has become a tradition over the years.
Those organizing parties or gatherings on October 14th are encouraged to call Capt.
Craig Poche with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office to have officers visit
their neighborhoods. Please join us in promoting crime prevention awareness and
neighborhood unity in the fight against crime!
Contact Capt. Craig Poche with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office by
phone at (225) 562-2203 or by email to learn more about the kick-off party or to register a
party for National Night Out Against Crime.
