Curfew is a law that keeps kids under the age of 17 off the streets and away from gangs, drugs and crime. Curfews, which apply to the nighttime hours, aren’t just there to keep the good kids from going bad; they are also there to keep the good kids from being hurt or becoming victims of crime.

If you are with a parent or guardian you are allowed to be out after curfew, as long as they are supervising you.

If you have a job, it is OK to be out after curfew. Just make sure you go straight to and from work. Stopping to hang out with friends would mean breaking curfew.

Hanging out and breaking curfew can cost you: If you are caught after curfew, there may be or you may be required to do community service.
The Township of Willingboro has a curfew to keep all juveniles under the age of 17 off of the public streets from 10:00 PM – 5:00 AM Sunday through Thursday. 11:59 PM – 5:00 AM for Friday and Saturday.

Be very careful when on the Internet.  People
online may not be who they say they are.

Never give out your real name, any personal
information (like your age or where you live)
when you’re in a public chat room, on an electronic
bulletin board or in your E-mail messages.

bullet

Make up fun nicknames when you are online.

bullet

Never call anyone you meet on the Internet.

bullet

Never send anyone you don’t know a picture of yourself.

bullet

Never respond to messages or bulletin board items that are rude, mean or threatening, and make sure you tell an adult if you get a message like that.

bullet

Make sure you never give out any passwords.  People who work for the Internet will never ask for passwords.

Never let anyone pressure you into doing something you feel uncomfortable doing.

Never enter an area on the Internet that charges for services without asking permission from a responsible adult first.
